Coronavirus – Global Pandemic

The Coronavirus or the Covid-19 started from the Wuhan city of Eastern China and in a blink of a moment it has become a Global Pandemic. As per the latest update 723,732 coronavirus cases has been reported within which 34,000 cases were declared dead.

So what is a Coronavirus?

A coronavirus is a virus which is found in animals. This virus rarely can be transmitted from animals to humans and then spread person to person.

Similar virus called MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) has been reported back in 2012 in Saudi Arabia where mortality was about one-third of diagnosed cases.

Coronavirus is a respiratory illness that typically affect the respiratory system, causing symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath. Mostly it is affecting people with low immunity or older people with previous medical history like asthma or any heart disease.

What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?

It may take 2 – 14 days for symptoms to develop. Few of main symptoms are  :

  • Fever
  • Dry Cough
  • Short of breath

What can be done to prevent Coronavirus?

There is currently no vaccine or treatment for COVID-19. So the best thing to prevent coronavirus is  Social Distancing. Stay at home and stop the spreading of the deadly coronavirus.

Few basic measures to protect from coronavirus :

  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Keep sanitizing your hand with alcohol based hand rubs.
  • Always were a mask when ever going out for any emergency.
  • Maintain 3-5 meter distance with people around.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes frequently.
  • If develop fever or cough, seek medical care immediately.

Coronavirus or Covid-19 global impact :

The emerge of Covid-19 has impacted the economy at global level. Almost every industry is taking the hit due to the lock down and the effect is showing clearly. Most of the countries have restricted travelling due to coronavirus. Hotel and Tourism is also entering a great crisis due to the global panic of the Coronavirus, which is leading to the stock market crash. As per the Forbes the global GDP growth could dip to below 2%, before being brought under control by June-July.
